Botanicals: Mushrooms

My mushroom series is a portal into the small worlds of the forest floor. I use a macro lens to photograph mushrooms at their level and very small lights to reveal their textures, veils, and gill structures. I have been known to bring a mushroom into the studio to create a formal portrait.
